Freeform Crochet Purse

Imagem 002, originally uploaded by Mariana Carvalho - tchibi.

I've been exploring Freeform Crochet ever since I stumbled onto Prudence Mapstone's website, http://www.prudencemapstone.com and I am IN LOVE!

I've been making Freeform Beadwork for about a decade now, and it has always been my favorite form of beadwork. I love how it just wanders and meanders, and there's no pattern to follow. It has always seemed much more creatively satisfying to me. So, imagine my surprise when I discovered that there's such a thing as Freeform Crochet!

This beautiful purse was made by Mariana Carvalho for her brand, tchibi, which will be launching in November.

How I learned to crochet, and you can, too!

This is the video that taught me how to crochet! And not just any crochet, but amigurumi! Amigurumi is Japanese for crocheted or knitted toys.

It is much easier than I thought it would be. And it's so much fun coming up with different designs and giving each one its own personality.

Hummers.. last call for the night=0)

This picture brings back so many memories for me, it literally took my breath away!

When I was little and used to visit my Grandma, she had hummingbird feeders hanging outside every window in her house and we would just sit and watch them for hours.

She passed away four years ago at the age of 104. Her name was Emma. She gave birth to 12 children, but only seven lived to adulthood.

I still miss her.

I'm in an altered paper doll swap and I was perusing flickr to see what other people have done.

I ran across these absolutely AMAZING paper dolls by Ana Ventura and fell in love with them and I just had to share them with you!
